A NEW MELODIC PROGRESSIVE ROCK BAND FROM YORKSHIRE, ENGLAND
Five former members of This Winter Machine joined forces with vocalist and flautist Charlie Bramald (Nova Cascade, ex-Harmony of Spheres) and created Ghost Of The Machine.
Ghost Of The Machine unleashed their critically acclaimed debut album Scissorgames upon the world in 2022, taking the best elements from their previous endeavours and pushing forward in an adventurous direction, blending memorable and melodic hooks with a heavier sound and progressive songwriting.
Scissorgames was touted as "one of the best debut progressive rock albums of 2022" (Progradar) and "neo-prog gold" (Prog Magazine), and collected various "Best Album" awards at the end of the year (Prog Rock For Beginners + ProgPhonic, Check It Out, and Across The Universal Soundscape), as well as "Best Debut Album" (Music In Widescreen), and it topped the Prog Explorations Plus 2022 listener's poll. The opening track Scissors won "Best Epic" on Epic Prog Radio's annual poll, and was awarded the coveted "Song of the Year" accolade by Music In Widescreen. Prog Magazine's reader's poll named Ghost Of The Machine as the #2 unsigned band of 2022, an impressive honour for a band in its debut year.
The band supported the release of Scissorgames with live shows throughout 2022. This included performances at the inaugural Soundle Weekend and Danfest 11, and shows across England alongside the likes of Franck Carducci And The Fantastic Squad, IT, Haze, The Dame and The Far Meadow. The momentum continues into 2023, with appearances scheduled at Fusion 4's Launch Event and the Winter's End progressive rock festival. Ghost Of The Machine's live performances are praised for their huge sound and energy, with a theatrical and visual performance from frontman Charlie to accompany the band's epic and bombastic live renditions. The band looks forward to bringing its show to more stages in 2023 and beyond.
